About Me
Welcome
Welcome to Thorough Solutions! I’m Thorsten Schülke, founder and CEO, and I’ve been a professional translator since 2008. Working with the language pairs English-German, French-German, and Danish-German, I deliver accurate, natural, fluent, and culturally nuanced translations that help businesses thrive in the German-speaking market.
In addition to offering language services, I operate several multi-lingual online businesses, such as content websites and e-commerce stores. This first-hand experience in digital business gives me unique insights into the challenges and opportunities of expanding into foreign markets. Whether you’re looking to localize your website or online shop, my experience ensures that your content will be linguistically precise, culturally relevant, and optimized for success.
Besides translating and developing my businesses, I enjoy traveling, motorcycling, sailing, competing in triathlons, playing football (soccer), learning wing foiling, and doing many other fun activities.
Professional Journey & Expertise
Over the past 17+ years, I’ve worked across various fields, including marketing, legal, tourism, video games, technical documentation, financial services, casino, and the automotive industry. This diversified experience has allowed me to work with various source texts and target audiences, broadening my understanding of language and culture across multiple sectors.
Growing up in Germany and living in France, Denmark, and Argentina, I’ve developed a deep cultural understanding. This understanding has increased with many years traveling through South and North America and many European countries. My ability to work with three language combinations enhances my versatility. It enriches the cultural and linguistic knowledge I bring to each project.
Tools & Technology
I have used CAT (Computer-Aided Translation) tools since the early days of my career as a professional translator, and Trados Studio has been my primary tool. My extensive experience with Trados Studio ensures consistent and high-quality translations. I am also proficient with other industry-leading CAT tools such as memoQ, Phrase, XTM, and Lokalise. These tools help me maintain terminology consistency, translation accuracy, and a smooth workflow across all projects.
In addition to CAT tools, I regularly utilize advanced AI tools like ChatGPT and Perplexity to further enhance translation quality, shorten delivery times, and increase cost-efficiency. These tools assist me in researching complex concepts, refining terminology, and speeding up different stages of the translation process while maintaining accuracy and linguistic nuances.
For SEO translations, I also use tools like Ahrefs, Ubersuggest, Surfer SEO, and Google Search Console to ensure your website or online shop performs well in search engines. Applying dedicated SEO tools ensures that your translated content resonates with your audience and effectively reaches them.
Customized Approach
I approach each client and project individually, providing customized services tailored to your specific needs and requirements. My goal is to help you achieve your objectives through personalized language solutions. I prioritize building long-term collaborations, and I am proud to have worked with several clients for over ten years.
When you choose to work with me, I personally handle all your translations. If any parts of the project need to be outsourced, I will do so only with your approval and in close cooperation. I collaborate exclusively with trusted colleagues who share my commitment to delivering high-quality work, ensuring that your project remains in capable hands.
If you are looking for a translation partner who combines linguistic expertise with a deep understanding of the digital and cultural landscape, I would love to discuss how I can help you succeed.
